Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.       - Charles Swindoll A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart.       - Opening scene of "Faust" You can't expect people to look eye to eye with you if you are looking down on them.       - unknown **** My new book Thresholds of the Mind, is finally back from the printer and available for sale. One, ATTRACTING GENUINE LOVE, is for singles who want to create a conscious and loving relationship in their life, and the other, CONSCIOUS LOVING, is for couples who want to make their existing relationship even more conscious and more loving. Gay Hendricks is one of the most highly regarded relationship experts in the world. With his wife Kathlyn, he has appeared on Oprah and many other television and radio programs, discussing the secrets he has discovered about how to create loving relationships, and he is also the author of several best-selling books, including Conscious Loving. Every time I pick up one of his books, review one of his cyber courses, or spend personal time with him, I come away impressed by how absolutely spot-on his thinking is, how much he cares about other people, what an effective teacher and communicator he is, and how practical his advice is. I have very carefully reviewed both his singles course and his couples course, and both are nothing short of incredible. Though their own searching over many years, Gay and Kathlyn have uncovered the core principles that will allow you to both find and create a loving relationship that will last a lifetime. In a world of half-baked cures and pop-psychology baloney about relationships, his stuff really delivers results, and I highly recommend it. Here's what Gay wanted me to tell you about these two courses: "Our life's commitment-the basis of our life's work, is to help you find the loving relationship you have always dreamed of. The principles we discovered in searching for true love are the basis of our life's work. They are the basis of our consultations, our workshops and trainings... ...and they are the basis for what we teach you in the Attracting Genuine Love and Conscious Loving cyber-courses. NOW WE'D LIKE TO SHARE THESE SECRETS WITH YOU!" --Gay Hendrick, PhD If you are interested in either of these on-line courses, click here: Conscious Loving (for couples): http://www.consciouslovingforcouples.com/26111 Attracting genuine Love (for singles): http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/aftrack.asp?AFID=49065 **** Happiness Is Free and It's Easier Than You Think Last week a new book by my good friend Hale Dwoskin and his mentor Lester Levenson (creators of The Sedona Method course, which I highly recommend) reached the #1 Best Seller status on Amazon.com. It is a terrific book that shows you how to uncover and live your natural state of unbounded happiness right in the middle of life. It, like all the offerings from Sedona Training Associates, is highly compatible with the Centerpointe program, which is why we frequently suggest that those who would like extra help in letting go of unwanted emotions look into the Sedona Method course. I highly recommend that you get your copy of Happiness is Free today by clicking on the following link and ordering it at the special 30% off price that they're offering at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0971933405/thesedonameth-20 **** Someone didn't like my article on modeling... Hi I JUST NEEDED TO GET BACK TO YOU RE THIS ISSUE ON MODELING. I read your mind chatters which are good with wise insights. However, your article on modeling just threw me into bazaar thinking. I was not sure whether you had lost the plot on this totally. We cannot model anyone but try to be similar ourselves in our own way. Your success points are totally confusing to the reader and really sounds as if your are trying so hard to make sense out of something that clearly is impossible and time wasting to even read let alone try. I was very shocked as you normally make good sense with a lot of wisdom. Sorry just wanted to mark on this particular point. Hope you do not mind as always your comments from readers are so positive but sometimes I have to be true to myself and express things that do confuse unintentionally Theresa from London UK My answer: Dear Theresa, If you want to create the same results someone else is creating, you can do so most quickly by modeling their thinking (beliefs, values, internal strategies, decisions, filters for sorting information, etc.) and their actions. This is because those who are good at something get the results they get because they think and act in specific ways. Those who do not get the results they want are often hoping they can continue to think and act in the same old way, one that has not been producing the results they wan, and still get different results. This NEVER works, and just leads to frustration and lack of motivation. If you continue to think and act in the same way, you will continue to get the same results. If you want different results, you must discover and adopt the way of thinking and acting used by those who ARE getting those results. If you think and act like someone who is getting the result you want, you will get the same results they are getting. Every successful person is aware of this. In my article on modeling I am merely describing for you how to do it. If you do not want to create results different than those you are already creating, disregard my information. If you are thinking that by "being yourself" (by which I assume you mean not copying anyone else, but instead doing it "your way") and therefore never emulating the actions and thinking strategies of others who are successful, you will somehow get better and faster results, by all means, try to do it that way. This approach is often referred to as "reinventing the wheel." It's not that you can't be innovative, but be innovative after you've discovered the best know way of doing something and put it into practice. Those who innovate start with what is already known and add to it. they do not start from scratch. If your goal and most important criteria is to do things "in your own way," and by that you mean to never learn the internal and external strategies of others who have already mastered what you want to master, then you should not model others. If your goal is to master something, however, and do it quickly, and get certain results, you must either model others or learn everything the long and slow "reinvent the wheel" way, which almost always results in failure and discouragement. I prefer the easy way, the way used and taught by those who want results -- colleges, corporations, sports teams, the military, and spiritual teachers throughout history, and anyone else who wants to learn to excel at something. I think you have somehow missed what I am saying in my article. What I describe is certainly NOT "impossible." I know many ultra-successful people, and every one of them has modeled excellence in order to get where they are. Every biography I have ever read of a successful person shows that they used modeling to achieve greatness. My own success is certainly based on modeling. If it is impossible, then a lot of people have done something that is impossible. I suggest you read my article again, and instead of assuming that something you don't understand is "bizarre thinking" or impossible, consider that it is just very different from how you currently think and that you perhaps don't yet understand it. Since you do not yet know how to do it, it seems impossible. I promise you, however, it is very possible, and you can learn to do it, too. Be well. Bill Harris, Director You can read the original article about Modeling by clicking here: http://www.centerpointe.com/news/archives/2002-10-01.txt **** How to Get Everything You Want by Bill Harris Perhaps I should have titled this article "How to Want Everything You Get," but that's another wrinkle I will share in another article. Today I want to describe how you can use what you have learned here about your internal map of reality and how it operates to create the results you want -- internal and external -- in your life. (For archives of past articles describing the various aspects of what I call your internal map of reality and how it works, click here: http://www.centerpointe.com/news/archives.cfm.) I've spent a lot of time describing for you the importance of focus in your life. Your brain is a cybernetic system, one which takes what you focus on, and, through continual feedback from your environment, brings what you focus on into reality. Cybernetics  is the science of communication and control theory concerned especially with the comparative study of automatic control systems (including the nervous system and brain as well as mechanical-electrical communication systems). Your brain is such an automatic control system, and knowing how it works can change your life. In a practical sense this means that your brain finds a way to make what you focus on come true. Ever since I discovered this fact, over twenty-five years ago, I have been in awe of just how all-encompassing this ability of the brain actually is. What seems ridiculously impossible can be made possible, IF you can direct your focus clearly enough toward it. The problem is, most of people's focus happens unconsciously and therefore cannot be directed. This is one reason why meditation, and Holosync® meditation in particular, are so powerful in changing your life: it takes what was happening unconsciously, out of conscious awareness, and increasingly makes you consciously aware of it. One of the end results of deep meditation work is that you become aware of exactly how you create your reality in every moment, and, as a result, can direct that creation in any way you like. A second, related, problem is that in being unconscious about their focus, many people focus on what they do NOT want. The brain, however, cannot make the distinction between things focused on that are wanted and things focused on that are not wanted. All it does is notice that something is being focused on, and then make it come into being. Why would someone focus on what they do not want? Usually because they want to avoid it. If you have had a significant negative emotional experience, you may spend a lot of time scanning your environment to make sure the thing you do not want doesn't happen again. Unfortunately, this scanning is really just focusing, and it draws to you the very people, situations, and things you do not want. A better strategy is to focus on what you DO want, and whenever you notice you are focusing on what you do not want, what you are afraid of, or what worries you, to change your focus to what you do want. If you have been mistreated in a relationship, you may be focused on not getting involved with another person who will be cruel to you. Unfortunately, this focus on what you want to avoid acts like radar drawing it to you. A better strategy to to focus on finding a kind, loving, fun person who is emotionally healthy. Though it may seem as if there is not much difference here, I promise you the difference is huge. So the first step in getting everything you want is to know what you want, and to focus your attention on it. At the same time, you must notice when you are focused on what you don't want and immediately change your focus to what you do want. For some people, those who have had negative emotional experiences, focusing on what is not wanted is a habit that can only be broken by going through a period of catching yourself and switching your focus to what you do want. Many people get stalled on this first step, that of knowing what they want. "I don't know what I want," they say. I find that in most cases these people do know what they want, but either don't think it is possible, which immediately censors their internal "wanter," or they have beliefs, values, or decisions that tell them it is not appropriate or okay to want whatever it is they want, which also creates unconscious censorship. This is obviously something each person has to work out for themselves. Sometimes, these filters that keep us from wanting something are even a good thing. The beltway snipers could have used some of these filters, for instance. On the other hand, if what you want is a loving relationship, or to be financially prosperous, or some other goal that is obviously not going to hurt others, and yet you find yourself feeling confused about exactly what you want, you need to check your beliefs, values, and past decisions to determine if any of these are in conflict with the goal, and then change them so they support what you want. I have written about this in past articles. Some people, for instance, have spirituality as a high value, and also want financial prosperity. If they believe that having money is not spiritual, or that the only way to have money is to get it at someone else's expense, that conflict will keep them from being clear about what they want. Once you have determined what you want, I suggest you write it down, and do so in such a way that if your fairy godmother were to find the paper and decide to give you what you want, there would be no mistake about exactly what it is. This means being precise. Doing this gives your brain a clear message of exactly what it is supposed to find or create. Saying "I want $50,000" is much different than saying "I want a lot of money." The first your mind can really grab onto, while the second is very fuzzy and inconclusive, which makes it difficult for your mind to process and focus on. I also suggest that you not only set immediate, short-term goals, but also look as far out into the future as possible. The most successful people in history have had what Napoleon Hill calls a Definite Major Purpose, a lifetime goal or purpose, with smaller goals over shorter time periods that support that Definite Major Purpose. Hill also observes that a number of things happen as soon as you become clear about a goal: it causes you to develop self-reliance, personal initiative, imagination, enthusiasm, self-discipline, and concentration of effort. It encourages you to specialize, and attracts to you the specialized knowledge you need to achieve your purpose. It induces you to budget your time and money and plan your daily affairs so as to lead to the attainment of your goals. it makes your mind more alert to opportunities related to your purpose and gives you the courage to act upon these opportunities when they appear. it develops the capacity to reach decisions quickly and firmly. And it inspires the cooperation of others and attracts their favorable attention. If you've ever wondered how others develop these abilities, now you know. They do it by setting goals and having a strong desire to achieve them. After you have written down exactly what you want, set a time limit that is reasonable. I suggest saying "On or before..." so as to allow for the possibility of having things happen faster, which often happens. Setting a time limit can bring up some fear. All the obstacles will come to mind, as well as the possibility of failure and the feelings you might have should that happen. If this happens, make a list of the obstacles, which you can later use to defeat them. These fears are an example of focusing on what you do not want. Listing the obstacles so you can figure out a way over, under, or through them is a way of changing that focus to what you want. Next, come up with a plan for achieving the goal. What? You have no idea what to do? No problem. I'll let you in on a little secret (actually, it's a HUGE secret): no one knows how they are going to achieve something when they start, unless they've done it before or learned from someone else how they did it. (This is where modeling, the subject of my article in Mind Chatter #99 comes into play, by the way.) Here's how people who achieve their goals do it: Those who are successful start off with whatever they can think of for a plan, no matter how pathetic it seems, and then take action. If they don't know what to do, they keep asking themselves, "what should I do?" until they think of something (focusing on what should I do, like all focusing, always creates what you focus on). You decide you want to get rid of your anxiety. That's your goal. You have no idea how to do it. Well now, wait a minute, after thinking about it for two minutes you decide to go to the bookstore and get a book about anxiety. That leads you to another book, and that gives you the idea of searching the internet, and the books and the internet give you the idea of seeing a counselor (or whatever). You go to a party and overhear someone talking about their anxiety, and learn something from them. And so on. If you keep asking "How can I do this?" keep focusing on being anxiety-free, and keep taking whatever action presents itself, even if you're not sure it will work, you will eventually get there. As you take action, you notice your results, and you keep tweaking your actions to get better results. You also give yourself a break if you don't figure it all out in a few day or a few week. Some goals take time and to quit part way just robs you of the victory. Here are a couple of ideas Napoleon Hill presents, based on his sixty years of research on how people can create what they want in life: 1) Any dominating idea, plan or purpose held in the mind through repetition of thought and emotionalized with a burning desire for its realization is taken over by the subconscious mind and acted upon through whatever natural and logical means may be available. 2) Any dominating desire, plan or purpose which is backed by faith is taken over by the subconscious mind and acted upon immediately. The power of the subconscious mind is amplified and stimulated by the power of faith, a force which accepts no such reality as the possibility of failure. This is, again, focus. If you focus on it ("held in the mind through repetition of thought"), and take whatever actions present themselves, it will happen. If you add to that a burning desire for its achievement, the power is even greater. And, if you back it with faith -- if you are sure it will happen -- it can happen immediately. How do you develop faith that what you want will happen? It took me a number of years before I developed total faith that I could manifest whatever I wanted. I could have developed faith in an instant, however, had I been willing to believe Napoleon Hill's words above when I first read them. Instead, I let my fears get in the way. I focused on what I was afraid of, at least part of the time, and that slowed me down. But as time passed and I had bigger and bigger successes, I began to really see that what these principles really do work. Focus is the key to life. If you can master focus, everything else falls into place. This is why you have to be careful what you focus on. This is why people say "Be careful what you pray for." Here's another big secret: you are already an expert in manifesting what you are focusing on. You were born an expert. It's hard-wired into your brain. Give a brain something to focus on, and it will create it in reality. Always. What you may not be an expert in is CONSCIOUSLY directing your focus. Instead, all kinds of focusing is happening outside of your awareness, and much of it is either on what you don't want or on what someone else has convinced you you should want. This is why deciding what you want, writing it down, setting a time limit, creating a plan, and then taking action (all the while noting your results and refining your plan) works so well to get you what you want. It harnesses your focus to what you want. It's like your mind is a fire hose, but most of the time no one is holding onto it, so it whips around, shooting water is every direction. Sometimes it sprays what you want it to spray, but mostly it just goes allover the place, pretty much randomly. However, once you grab the hose and point it at what you want to spray, you have harnessed the power of the fire hose and can direct that power in any way you choose. So spend some time getting clear on what you want. Then, write it down, as precisely as possible. Set a deadline, and create a plan. Don't worry if the plan sucks at first. Just start acting on the plan and better plans will come to you. Keep focusing on what you want and keep asking "How can I?" The answers will come. When they do, you must act on them. Focus, then act, then evaluate the results, then refine your plan, then act again, always focusing on what you want. Dream about it. Picture it. Talk to yourself about it. Ask "How can I do this?" over and over and over. This works whether what you want is material, spiritual, emotional, or anything other category. I'll leave you with another couple of very powerful ideas from Napoleon Hill: 1) "The power of thought is the only thing over which any human being has complete, unquestionable control. Neither negative nor positive thoughts can enter the subconscious without the full consent of the conscious mind." You may have limited control over everything else, but you have total control over what you focus on, if you will only exercise it. And I'll tell you this: what really put me over the top in being able to consciously control my mind in this way was meditating daily with Holosync. Why? Because it will, over time, correct all the unconscious "fire hose out of control" focusing you are doing now. It is amazing how well Holosync works to make this change. The other idea from Napoleon Hill: 2) "The subconscious mind is the doorway of individual approach to Infinite Intelligence, and is capable of being influenced by the individual. The basis of this approach is faith, based on Definiteness of Purpose. The ability to contact Infinite Intelligence for the solution to your problems is a power so great that you can get anything you want in life by using it." Go do it. Be well. Bill Harris, Director **** Glowing Testimonial of the Month I'm a 22 year old college student and I'm writing this to let anyone who is reading this know that the Centerpointe program is the best investment I have ever made. Also to anyone reading this, it is not a one-day thing, and at times it felt like the hardest thing in world to do was listen too the soundtracks. This is because the soundtracks pit you against your strongest and worst enemy....YOURSELF. This confrontation is the most worthwhile battle you will ever have. It's like looking for something late at night in your house with the lights off. All you can do is feel around and try to navigate through your house trying to avoid injury from a fall. Centerpointe is the light switch, so you may move freely and confidently through your home. Now I can see why Nelson Mandela said "man is afraid of the light." This is because once you see it, you know you can do anything. From that point on, life is like a dream--but there is a catch. You know your dreaming, but the advantage is yours, now because you can control your dream once you know your dreaming. "Seek and ye shall find" Pardon the grammar N.Rivera New York City ** Hi, Just wanted to take a moment and thank you, Bill Harris, and all who work with you, for making the Centerpointe program available for seekers like myself. I've pursued spiritual/self-help growth through many organized (and unorganized) churches and philosophies for more than 45 years of life on this planet. While well aware of certain "issues," the overcoming of them seemed beyond my ability to accomplish in this lifetime. I have been using Awakening Prologue for about 8 months now. During this 8 months, I have lost my job, my home has gone to pre-foreclosure process, investments have failed, my vehicle has had 3 major breakdowns, have dealt with the death of one close friend and a serious heart condition of another's, and a crisis resulting in "reorganizing on a higher level" of my primary relationship. I have during this past few weeks finally found the time/energy to listen to the CD set of your talk at the 2001 Retreat. I can relate to the concept of "overwhelm." There have been times these last months that I thought my heart was going to just blow up from the stress. Your explanation of the concept of "threshold" was very encouraging and enlightening. I have been able to take this information and apply it to my situation(s) and have TRULY found peace in the midst of chaos! That has been my goal for at least 20 years....to be able to be "in the world but not of it"...to maintain PEACE within myself, regardless of what was going on around me. THANK YOU! I credit the regular listening to Dive and Immersion these last 8 months or so and the enlightening concepts presented in your 2001 Retreat, with the saving of my life and my sanity! I confess I've had so much stuff going on during this time that I did not adequately read the material I've received...skimmed and set aside waiting for "time" to dig into it. The CD set of your 2001 Retreat talk has, I feel, filled in the blanks that I missed. I believe what I have been experiencing the last 8 months is bumping along at my "threshold" and finally a few weeks ago breaking through and "reorganizing at a higher level." Never before have I managed to reach such a level of acceptance and peace with much less chaos than I am currently dealing with. Sorry to be so long-winded. I've wanted to write or call numerous times...just didn't have the time/energy. I do want you to know how much I appreciate your program and your ongoing support system, and the growth I am experiencing because of it. As soon as I get back to work...and maybe even before...I will be purchasing the next level. Your stuff works like nothing I could ever have imagined or hoped for! God BLESS you! Sincerely, Ellen R. ** Hi Bill: I just wanted to stop for a moment this evening to tell you how much I appreciate your development of the Centerpointe program. It has helped me so much and I recommend it to my clients. Working with my clients as they use the program, guiding them and supporting them in their growth has been an incredible rewarding experience as they progress into their true selves. Our beliefs match so much and helping my clients as they work with your program has gone hand in hand. The results are extraordinary. On a personal note, it has helped me handle life so much better. My goal is to educate and help people feel better about themselves and to help them improve their life. That is why I like working with your program and my clients together. They match...Take care and I hope you have had a wonder summer. God Bless.... Dr. Erika Duffy (www.erikaduffy.com), therapist and host of "Return to Yourself" radio program ** Someone LIKED my article about modeling! Bill, I just read your article (Mind Chatter #99) on modeling to improve one's quality (and quantity) of life. I was impressed by two things. The first is how you are basically describing modeling as NLP explains it and patterns it. Your explanation is very thorough and precise. I applaud you for your accomplishment. However, you may want to add a reference NLP literature and trainings to assist those readers who are interested in learning more about modeling. I would also like to offer another feature of modeling that you did not touch on. That is that one can simply make up models utilizing different strategies and belief systems. This seems to work well for some people and reinforces one of the presuppositions of NLP; Everyone has all the resources that they need. The second thing that I was impressed with is simply your forthright and honest support for those in your program. I think that you have chosen a noble endeavor, again kudos to you and your organization. I have been using the holosynch cd's for about three months now and have noticed some dramatic changes in myself. Specifically I have become more aware of my surroundings, my intentions, and my goals. It is interesting that you sent your support this time with a reference for modeling. I have been working on modeling different strategies within others and myself. And I have found that my meditation has increased my capacity for understanding others' maps. Of course, this has only been possible because I have gained a better and more comprehensive understanding of my own map(s). If you find that your support staff is overwhelmed with work please feel free to refer both your support staff and clients my website: www.coachingperfection.com. I have many years experience assisting folks with their goals and subsequent challenges. I am looking forward to more Mind Chatter as well as many more years of meditation via the holosynch cd's. Thankyou for you work Bill! Jim Kieger ** Dear Bill, Thank you for sending me a personal copy of Thresholds of the Mind.....Great Stuff...........read it daily!!!! [Each person at the recent Centerpointe Retreats in Australia were given a free copy of my new book, Thresholds of the Mind. --Bill] You asked me at the Retreat if I thought Holosync worked ....I wasn't sure after all everything was wonderful, safe & rosie at the retreat. I left the retreat with a smile on my face & goodwill towards fellow man & life was wonderful....... Then the real world caught up & let me have it with both barrels blazing. I coped!!! No matter what it dished out I managed to stay cool & solve my problems & help others solve theirs. You are as solid as a rock nothing ever shakes you they keep saying...... Yes Bill,Holosync really works. Thanks a million. NATALIE R. **** BOOK REVIEW, By Marc Gilson Kitchen Table Wisdom by Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D. Riverhead Books © 1996 Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D. Note: With so many new subscribers to Mind Chatter, we wanted to share a book review that many of you may have missed. So this month we're reprinting a book review from a previous edition of Mind Chatter. Hope you enjoy it. To order this book, click here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1573226106/centerpointer-20 We all know the power of story. Stories can inspire, inform, disturb, enlighten, and frighten. Perhaps the most powerful stories are those that are rooted in the shared experiences of the readers. When we as readers find ourselves affected and touched in some way by the story of another's experiences, we have, in a way, shared the emotions of joy and sorrow which often shape our lives as human beings. Stories that convey such emotional meaning carry with them the potential for healing to those who read and allow themselves to be touched by them. Such is the case with Kitchen Table Wisdom, a collection of stories about healing, loving, and growing by Rachel Naomi Remen. Remen has been active in the area of mind/body healing work for many years. She is perhaps best known as a co-founder and medical director of the Commonweal Cancer Help Program which was featured on Bill Moyer's PBS special, "Healing and the Mind." Remen is known for her direct and humane approach to the process of healing and has received many accolades for her work with the terminally ill. Few people could be said to have a better grasp of the concept of healing than Remen. As a physician, professor of medicine, therapist, and long-time survivor of chronic illness, Remen knows the good, the bad, and the ugly of healing on virtually every level of human experience. Kitchen Table Wisdom is a superb collection of stories compiled by Remen which highlight, in a very personal way, the common language of healing. By this I mean healing as a process of "making whole again;" the desire so many of us share to be happier, healthier, whole human beings. These stories are poignant, inspirational, sometimes painful, but always honest and humane. Although some of the stories pull at the heart strings, the overall message of the book is one that inspires a certain faith in the human spirit, and in the sometimes mysterious aspects of healing which ultimately touch us all. As Jon Kabat-Zinn said of the book, "I laughed and cried my way through it from beginning to end." As told by Remen, these remarkable stories take-on a meaning far deeper than mere "human interest" journalism. Her insights into the experiences she describes provide the reader with a depth of understanding which is often understood emotionally more than intellectually. In the process, Remen teaches lesson after lesson about healing in a natural, direct, and compassionate way that speaks to the heart of the reader. These are not merely stories "about healing," but are stories that heal through their own telling. Remen clearly views healing as a kind of journey of the spirit. She makes no real distinction between physical, psychological, or emotional healing because she recognizes the inherent connectedness between all these aspects of life. Her commentary throughout the book is graceful, yet to the point. She displays her knowledge of healing as a physician. But more importantly, she shows that healing isn't as much about doctors, surgeries, and medicine as much as it is about meaning, faith, and courage. >From the Foreword by Dean Ornish, M.D: "Suffering - whether physical, emotional, spiritual, or as often the case, all three - can be a doorway to transformation. As we move to the end of the century and millennium, our personal suffering is sometimes worsened by the lack of communication and community. Illness often intensifies these feelings of isolation. Telling stories can be healing. We all have within us access to a greater wisdom, and we may not even know that until we speak out loud." Kitchen Table Wisdom will allow you access to this "greater wisdom" Ornish mentions, through the eyes of one of the most authentic and compassionate healers of our time. My new book, Thresholds of the Mind, is back from the printer. Here's what some prominent people have said about it: "Thresholds of the Mind is a work of genius. I urge everyone to read, use, and benefit from the magnificent breakthrough Bill Harris has made." Al Siebert, Ph.D. author of The Survivor Personality Director of The Resiliency Center "In Thresholds of the Mind, Bill Harris offers a creative and practical new twist on why we suffer, and how, despite our resistance, we can attain deep happiness and inner peace, regardless of our past or present conditions. Thresholds of the Mind will benefit anyone interested in creating dramatic and powerful positive change." Jack Canfield, Co-author of the #1 New York Times best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul® series. "Bill Harris has helped thousands of people reach new heights of awareness, and with this informative book millions more will have the opportunity. For many years Kathlyn and I have taught that the central problem human beings face is what we call the Upper Limits problem-the tendency to settle below the threshold of what is possible to achieve. Bill Harris not only understands this problem, he has created an ingenious technology for breaking through it, With the remarkable Holosync Audio Technology developed at The Centerpointe Research Institute, all of us can now learn to live at a new and higher level of functioning. Do yourself a huge favor by reading Thresholds of the Mind and working with Holosync audio technology." Gay Hendricks, Ph.D. author of CONSCIOUS LIVING and co-author (with Dr. Kathlyn Hendricks) of CONSCIOUS LOVING President, The Hendricks Institute "I learned SO much from this book and whole-heartedly recommend you read it too. Wow, I might have titled it, 'Brain Flow & True Happiness: A detailed manual.' Bill Harris has managed to put down on paper both a great scientific explanation of why meditation works and a tantalizing description of the profound benefits of Holosync Audio Technology, which he's witnessed in thousands and documented over the past 15 years. In a world full of quick-fix offerings that fail us constantly, this book shines as a beacon of real hope. Read it if you're search for deep happiness is entirely sincere. Or just read it if you want to know important things about how your brain works." Patrick Combs author of Major in Success, public speaker, recently interviewed by Barbara Walters "A very compelling concept...I am quite intrigued with its potential. Bill Harris presents a powerful and provocative program that stands apart from the traditional approaches to self improvement." Tony Allesandra, Ph.D. author of Charisma, The Platinum Rule, Collaborative Selling, and Communicating at Work; creator of over 50 films and audio and video programs, including Relationship Strategies, The Dynamics of Effective Listening, and Non-Manipulative Selling "Spirituality deals with the fundamentals of human living, happiness, the elimination of suffering, the discovery of the authentic self, the power of love, the understanding of and control of emotions, even the transformation of one's life. When I read Bill Harris' Thresholds of the Mind, I found an approach to spirituality that was very compatible with all I have been teaching and have found helpful to others seeking a deeper understanding of their lives. This book does not pretend to be spiritual in a religious sense, but fills a void in the teaching of spirituality that is most welcome. I highly recommend it." Father J. Francis Stroud, S.J. Director, The DeMello Spirituality Center, Fordham University, New York "Bill Harris comes from deep personal experience with healing and consciousness. Thresholds of the Mind is truly inspiring and filled with profound wisdom. Holosync is the perfect addition to other growth and spiritual processes." Margaret Paul, Ph.D. author/coauthor of Do I Have To Give Up Me To Be Loved By You?, Healing Your Aloneness, Inner Bonding, and Do I Have To Give Up Me To Be Loved By God? "Bill Harris has woven a wonderfully understandable tapestry of personal possibility in this useful work. Readers will find the just right road map for their own journey of growth and joy page by page." Bob Danzig, former CEO, Hearst Newspapers; Author of Angel Threads, Success Vitamins, Speaker, Professor "Bill Harris's Holosync process and the Centerpointe program perfectly blend the technology of the new millennium with its new spirituality. We are definitely not in Kansas anymore! Thanks, Bill!" Stephen Simon Film producer, Somewhere in Time and What Dreams May Come; Author of The Force is With You: Mystical Movie Messages That Inspire Our Lives "Bill Harris has created something very unusual: the perfect marriage of meditation and science. His elegant explanation of how mental, emotional, and spiritual change happen, how and why we make change so difficult, and how we can get out of the way and just let it happen is nothing short of brilliant. This book is a must for everyone committed to lifetime growth and self-improvement." James F. Hennig, Ph.D. Author, The Familiar Stranger; consultant to Fortune 500 companies; creator of video training programs in 14 languages in 37 countries; past president, National Speakers Association, member Speakers Hall of Fame "Thresholds of the Mind is a captivating book that holds your attention and heart throughout its thought-provoking pages. Bill's new book is just the tip of the iceberg of a powerful program that offers a journey worthy of the most ardent student of personal development. I am recommending this book to everyone I know." Melissa Giovagnoli author of Angels in the Workplace and The Nanosecond Networlders; creator of Networlding "With a loving heart, Bill Harris guides us to the thresholds of the mind. This remarkable book is not only a profound tool for healing. It is also an invitation to explore the mystical interface between technology and the soul." Daphne Rose Kingma, author of The Future of Love, Heart & Soul, and Coming Apart "Mr. Harris has clearly passed all of his competition by great distances and with great ease in the development of programs for the use of meditation for personal development. His work is indeed worthy of being clearly identified as both a work of significant genius, and the market leader in the domain of personal development." It's now too late to come with us to Australia for one of two retreats in September, because they're over! You can, however, sign up for the next US retreat in March of 2003 at Glen Ivy Hot Springs and Spa in Corona California, or for the next Breitenbush Hot Springs retreat in July of 2003 in Oregon. We filled the latest Breitenbush Retreat without even sending out a promotional letter, so if you have a big issue you'd like to eliminate, or just want to take your growth to the next level, don't wait-call Centerpointe and sign up today, even though March of 2003 or July of 2003 might seem to be a long way off. We advertise that you'll get six months of growth in 5 days at these retreats. One person, this time, told me she received six YEARS! And, we offer a full money back guarantee if at the end of the retreat you don't think it was as advertised-and more. Click here for more information: http://www.centerpointe.com/retreats/ You do not need to be a program participant to attend (though most people who attend are). (And if you're not a program participant, why the heck aren't you? Quit procrastinating and join.) Here's why, even if you've been to a retreat before and thought about coming to another... ...or have toyed with the idea of attending one for the first time... ...NOW is the time to attend one: I've significantly changed the material presented at the retreats to include and focus on the 9 Principles I've been writing about in Mind Chatter over the last few months. A major goal of the retreat is for you to leave with a concrete plan for learning to live these principles. I believe these principles are the key to living a life free from suffering and filled with peace and happiness. Mastering them will change your life forever. If you want 6 months of growth in just a few short days, or a breakthrough in that big issue you've had trouble cracking on your own, please be there! These retreats now fill up without my advertising them other than these messages in Mind Chatter, so call now and sign up early to make sure you have a spot. Click here for more information: http://www.centerpointe.com/retreats/ Or, call us between 9:30 and 5:00 Pacific time, M-F, at 1-800-945-2741 or 503-672-7117. 3. A reminder that Dr. Beverlee Taub, Ph.D therapist, facilitator and life coach, is available to help you maximize your opportunities and overcome your obstacles. She has an international telephone coaching clientele and supports those who wish to combine an in-depth inquiry with their use of the Holosync technology. Even though Dr. Taub has her own independent practice and is not a part of Centerpointe, she has utilized and recommended the Centerpointe program since its development in the late 1980's. She has been a consultant, coach, and friend to Bill Harris for over 17 years. Dr. Taub is a key facilitator at Centerpointe retreats, leading attendees in what she calls "transformational games," as well as meeting privately with those who desire more in depth work. Telephone appointments with Dr. Taub can be arranged by calling Dr. Taub directly at (503) 641-5408. There is no charge for an initial consultation with Dr. Taub and fees for additional sessions may be negotiated directly with her. Appointments are required. 4.
